Professional repointing from £77 per m²

At SGT Repointing Solutions, we aim to provide clear and transparent pricing for repointing work. Our standard repointing service starts from £77 per square metre for brick or stone masonry.

Cleaning and preparation of the joints before repointing to help ensure proper adhesion, consistency and long-term durability.

Repointing

Application of new mortar suitable for the masonry type, properly pressed into the joints and finished to restore both appearance and protection.

Joint Finishing

Standard finishes such as flush, weather struck or similar traditional profiles, depending on the style and requirements of the building.

Example Project Costs

These examples are intended as a guide based on the standard rate of £77 per m².

Small garden wall (10 m²)

Chimney stack (8–12 m² typical)
£616 – £924
Single house wall (40 m²)
£3,080
Two elevations of a property (80 m²)
£6,160
Full house repointing (120 m²)

These figures are intended only as a guide. A proper quotation will take into account access, mortar specification, property height and the overall condition of the masonry.

Factors That Can Affect Price

  • Height of the building or requirement for scaffolding
  • Restricted or difficult access
  • Depth and severity of mortar deterioration
  • Damaged bricks or stone needing additional repair
  • Specialist lime mortar requirements
  • Removal of inappropriate previous cement pointing
  • Chimneys or other highly exposed areas

Lime Mortar Repointing

For older and period properties, a lime-based mortar may be more appropriate than a modern cement-based mix. Lime mortar is more breathable and flexible, making it better suited to traditional masonry.

Because lime work often involves a more careful and time-intensive process, final pricing may vary depending on the specification, finish and condition of the wall.
